“A Leap Beyond the Limits of Score”: 2026 KPGA David Golf Tour Title Sponsorship Ceremony
On Tuesday, April 21 at 11 a.m., the signing ceremony for the new title sponsor of the KPGA Challenge Tour was held at the KPGA Building (10F) in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do. David Golf CEO Koo Geon-woo and Korea Professional Golf Tour (KPGT) CEO Kim Won-sub attended the ceremony.
Guided by the motto “a leap beyond the limits of score,” the 2026 second-tier tour (Challenge Tour) has been officially named the “2026 KPGA David Golf Tour.”

The agreement is especially meaningful because it brings a committed sponsor back to the Challenge Tour, which had gone without one since 2023. It is seen as more than filling a gap: the tour has gained a welcome partner for its growth, giving players strong support.
Since its founding in 1990, David Golf has led innovation in Korean golf clubs under its firm development philosophy of “clubs that change your score,” starting with the long-selling Woody Iron, known as the nation’s favorite utility club.
The 2026 David Golf Tour begins with the Challenge Tour's 6th event (total purse KRW 100 million) at Gimcheon Podo Country Club on May 19.
After the David Golf Tour Championship, the top 10 in the season points standings (David Points) will earn the biggest reward of all: a place on the 2027 KPGA Tour. The next 10 will go straight to the KPGA Tour QT Final Stage and the following 10 straight to KPGA Tour QT Stage 2, giving players clear motivation.
Indeed, many of today's top players in Korea and abroad—including Im Sung-jae (28, CJ), Jang Yu-bin (24, Shinhan Financial Group), Cho Woo-young (25, Woori Financial Group), Ok Tae-hoon (28, Keumkang Housing), Kim Min-kyu (25, Korean Golf Club), Jeong Chan-min (27, CJ) and Kim Seong-hyeon (28, Shinhan Financial Group)—are former second-tier tour winners. The Challenge Tour has long been the cradle and key gateway for the players who represent Korean professional golf.
“The KPGA Challenge Tour is an important stage where the players who will shape the future of Korean professional golf build their dreams,” said KPGT CEO Kim Won-sub. “David Golf’s title sponsorship is a valuable contribution that gives players a better environment and greater motivation. We are truly reassured to have a partner who sincerely supports the growth of the second-tier tour, and the KPGA will repay that support by running a fair, high-quality tour.”
“We are honored to stand alongside the promising players who will lead the future of Korean professional golf through this KPGA sponsorship,” responded David Golf CEO Koo Geon-woo. “The Challenge Tour is a precious stage where players chase their dreams, so we want to expand our player support to help them reach the next level. Through this sponsorship, we will work closely with the KPGA to broaden the base of Korean golf and support and develop players, and continue sincere efforts on and off the course to make golf more accessible and nurture talent.”
Through its title sponsorship of the KPGA David Golf Tour, David Golf is taking an active part in the growth of Korean professional golf, and plans to keep supporting the tour and working together for the development of the Korean pro golf industry.
Moving beyond its reputation as a hybrid specialist, David Golf recently introduced its “Score Changer” Advancer lineup, designed to directly lower golfers' scores, and it has been well received. Developed from years of feedback from professionals, the Advancer series (driver, fairway woods and utility clubs) combines an exceptional moment of inertia (MOI) with precise engineering to deliver peak real-world performance for tour pros and amateurs alike.
